Attention all students! There could be extra college money for you! Here is a list of featured scholarships with upcoming deadlines for which current and prospective UAT students may be eligible. These scholarship resources have been selected based on their potential interest to our students and for their relevance to UAT eligibility. Please check back frequently to review new scholarship information. We strongly encourage current and prospective students to apply for any scholarships that are applicable to them.

Collegiate Inventors Competition
Scholarship Deadline: Annual scholarship, June of each year

Eligibility: Undergraduate and Graduate College Students
Type: Technology
Deadline: June 16, 2009
Basic Criteria: For undergraduate and graduate students to pursue new ideas, processes and technological innovations.
Award: Up to $25,000

The Christopher's "One Person Can Make A Difference" Annual Video Contest
Scholarship Deadline: Annual scholarship, June of each year

Eligibility: Undergraduate and Graduate Students, preference is given to students with a career interest or major in film and video
Type: Visual Arts/Video
Deadline: June 8, 2009
Basic Criteria: Entries must be five minutes or less and represent annual theme
Award: Up to $3,000

Foundation for Individual Rights in Education "Freedom on Campus" Student Video Contest
Scholarship Deadline: May 15, 2009

Eligibility: Competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students registered to a U.S. college or university. Please provide proof of enrollment or a copy of student ID when submitting your entry form
Type: Visual Arts
Basic Criteria: Students create a video not to exceed 10 minutes that shows rights violations to free speech or academic freedom on campus
Award: $5,000 cash rewards and exposure on CFN and FIRE websites

Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship Program
Scholarship Deadline:
Annual scholarship, Nominations accepted February 1st - March 15th.
Eligibility: High school students and younger.
Type: Food/Retail
Basic Criteria: High school students and younger who have been nominated in recognition for their community service activities.
Award: Up to $5,000
Veterans of Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Iraqi Freedom Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline:
Annual scholarship, April 1 and November 1 of each year
Eligibility: Current active duty, reserve or honorably discharged veterans enrolled in online or on-campus programs.
Type: Military/Technology
Basic Criteria: Active-duty / honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (to include Reservists and National Guard personnel) of the Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) or Iraqi Freedom operations who are currently enrolled in an eligible Bachelor of Science major.
Award: $2,500

AFCEA Distance Learning/Online Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline:
June 1, 2009
Eligibility: Minimum full-time Undergraduate Bachelor of Science sophomores through Master of Science students enrolled in online programs.
Type: Military/Technology
Basic Criteria: Awarded to full-time online students in an eligible Bachelor of Science major or Master of Science program. For undergraduate applicants, two semesters of calculus must be completed. Graduate applicants must have completed at least one full semester of work. Primary consideration will be given for academic excellence.
Note: At least two letters of recommendation printed on school stationery with signature will be required from field-of-study professors.
Award: $1,500

Eligibility: Available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.
Type: General
Basic Criteria: Students write an essay of less than 1000 word on one of 2 essay question topic choices.
Award: $1,000
