THE OPPORTUNITY

Unknown Worlds is seeking a talented Narrative Content Designer to work on Subnautica 2. Our ideal candidate is a passionate game player and game creator with technical implementation expertise. They are self directed, highly motivated and enjoy working with multidisciplinary collaborative teams. This role works closely with our writers, designers and world building team to translate the game narrative into the gameplay experience.

This is a remote position on a globally distributed team. The ideal candidate should be able to work US East Coast or Western European hours.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and world teams to create dynamic, exciting encounters and events for players based on the games narrative and lore.
  • Work with the design team to translate game lore, history, characters, and storylines into gameplay.
  • Expand our core set of gameplay building blocks to support new gameplay ideas.
  • Develop and own the process for breaking down narrative beats, tasking out the necessary work across writing, world building and gameplay design.
  • Assist the writing team with the integration of text and voice over.
  • Work with production and the playtest process to identify and respond to key feedback.
  • Establish and maintain narrative design documentation as needed for the project.

AV Design Engineer

Instrumentation and Controls Technician

The Role

This role supports site industrial automation programs and is expected to support advanced troubleshooting and problem solving related to instrument performance in field applications.

External US

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Work in a safe manner that follows safety, environmental, and Facilities department policies and procedures.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair:
    • Electric, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments used to indicate, record, or control operations at the Mesa site.
    • Industrial fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment such as pumps, piping, valves, motors and fans.
  • Follow maintenance process requirements, including use of SAP to identify equipment issues, obtain parts, document findings, track labor hours, capture repair history, etc.
  • Inspect, evaluate accuracy, and calibrate / tune, if necessary, transmitters, controllers and other instrumentation used in process control systems at the Mesa site.
  • Trace out and test electrical circuitry and components as needed to locate defective components and parts in Mesa site controls systems (5V, 24AC/DC, 120/208VAC, 230/460 3phase VAC).
  • Remove, replace and repair, as needed, defective instruments from Mesa site controls systems.
  • Write procedures to maintain and repair equipment when required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and quality of workmanship.
  • Support and participate in EH&S, Quality, and Facilities department programs and requirements.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
